Here are some of my favorites from Jeanette and James’s Laguna Beach wedding. Jeanette is a close friend and when my wife and I found out her and James was getting married, we were very happy for them. The two had a breathtaking ceremony with a beautiful view of Laguna Beach. Since the wedding was in the late afternoon and there was little time for bridal portraits after the ceremony, I asked if they wanted to do a “First Look”. A “First Look” is when the couple sees each other before the ceremony and has a quiet moment together. It’s a very emotional event and makes for beautiful pictures. They loved the idea. I coordinated with my 2nd photographer, Derrick Yazzie, to have James waiting at the water fountain. Thirty minutes before the ceremony, I brought Jeanette down to where James was. Both Derrick and I stepped aside and watched as James turned around to see his bride for the first time in her wedding gown. We stealthily took pictures and just let the moment happen. They hugged, kissed, laughed, and cried. It was definitely a moment that would not have happened in front of their 100+ guests. After a few more portraits and a makeup refresh, the ceremony began with even bigger smiles.
