I’ve done a few styled shoots at the San Juan Capistrano Mission, but I’ve been wanting to photograph one of my couples there for a while. It’s a great location with so much history and character. Every time I shoot there I find something different. I was excited when Maricela and Rafael were down to do their engagement session there. I remember it being a fairly bright day. The old stone buildings were brightly lit on one side and beautifully shaded on the other. Archways and corridors created perfect lighting to place the couple. Maricela and Rafael were relaxed and easy going. We explored the Mission together and came up with some great images. We eventually ended up in Dana Point to catch a bright clear sunset. The sun, which I tried my best to avoid earlier in the day, aided in the crescendo of our session. A radiant ending to an impeccable day.
