Ladies and Gentleman I want to introduce our newest edition to our video team. Meet Adriel Olmos, we have brought him on as our new video editor and we couldn’t be more stoked. He will be a great edition to our team, not only does he have a great eye, but a great personality to go with it. We are excited to start working with him and look forward to his great work in the future.

Here is some information about Adriel.

Q: Where did you grow up?
A: I grew up in Silverlake Los Angeles for most of my life (14 years)

Q: What school did you attend?
A: I’m currently studying at Mt. Sac as a film major and plan on attending the UCLA film school

Q: What attracted you to enter the film and editing field?
A: I was attracted to the film industry at a very young age, attending Film festivals such as the Los Angeles International Latino Film Festival and going on TV/movie sets with my Uncle Edward James Olmos. Being on sets to see the behind the scenes work really got me excited and interested in how elaborate and creative the industry was. My uncle would explain the different monitors, the camera angles etc.

Q: What do you want to do with your eduction?
A: With my education, I would just like to learn as much as I can about Film aesthetically and historically so from there I can begin to create my own personal style and interpretation. In the near future I will start my own Video Production Company that will focus on everything from Music Videos to fashion Lookbooks and other Narratives. For my own personal projects I plan to enter into Film festivals and make my way to become a Feature film director.

Q: What particular style of films are you interested in?
A: I would have to say that my favorite style of film would be film Noir. Noir meaning: “dark intentions” lets us see the internal conflicts within ourselves  that we as human beings face as we hit the crossroads of our life.

Q: What do you love about film making and editing?
A: What I love about Film and Editing is the power of good storytelling . To be able to inspire others… to make people laugh, smile, cry. It is the emotions behind films and editing that allows us to jump into something so deep within us that we don’t find unless we watch it on the screen. It is very much like jumping into a very good book where you are apart of that world and nothing else matters.

*We sympathize with the underdog in Films and that character is the person we can all relate to the most*
Q: Any other thoughts you want to share?
A: I am open to all different types of films from the classics like Orson Wells, The Third Man,  to more modern films like Drive  by Nicolas Refn.  I feel like you can learn and or appreciate a lot from classic films that may still be culturally relevant. Speaking of the Movie Drive  with Ryan Gosling, I definitely recommend you watch that film as well as another film that recently just came out called Midnight in Paris with Owen Wilson, directed by Woody Allen both fantastic films. Watch Drive if you feel like watching some stylistic action and a more modern spin to film Noir. Watch Midnight in Paris… just anytime, it is just that great of a film. It will definitely leave an impression on you.
